The First Of A Three-Part Series

2019 Ideation Weekend Wrap-UpThe first of a three-part BTE weekend seminars series, Ideation weekend introduced attendees to other business-minded people in the region, a working model of what it means to be an entrepreneur, as well as an overview of how to turn a great idea into a successful business.

Ideation Weekend Summary

“The BTE Ideation Weekend afforded a group of entrepreneurially minded community members to introduce themselves to each other, understand the larger entrepreneurial ecosystem available to them on the Palouse, and learn a little more about what it means to have an entrepreneurial spirit. They heard about local resources available through the universities and community to help support their ideas, they worked to provide feedback for each other, and learned some of the basic assessment tools that startups employ to validate whether their idea has the potential to provide business value. This introduction to entrepreneurism will help the attendees as they move forward into the BTE Foundation Weekend in June.”  said Asa Brown, Ideation Weekend seminar leader.

Your Next Step – Foundation Weekend  Seminar

BTE Weekend Seminar Series - Foundation WeekendAt least half the Ideation Seminar entrepreneurs expressed interest in attending Part two of the BTE seminar series, foundation weekend. This more intensive seminar features Interactive presentations, one-on-one mentoring from local experts, networking time with Entrepreneurial and business leaders on the Palouse. Attendees will learn how to build a business from the ground-up, take an existing company to the next level, discover potential customers and pitch your idea to business experts and meet this year’s Entrepreneur Of The Palouse Award winners.

Kay Meyer, Red Barn Farms owner said

“One of our main goals for attending the Ideation Weekend was to connect with the network of business support and development resources in our backyard, with the Palouse Knowledge Corridor, WSU, and Small Business Development Center.   We were able to meet several resources and successful entrepreneurs that we look forward to continue to work with. We were given several strategies to help develop and validate new business ideas. We are excited to work with the SBDC and attend the next BTE Boot Camp Series to continue to have focused time to continue to plan.”
